Put AI on the payload and the mission — pilots and operators still fly and decide

RIA’s AI in Drones programme is for people who will analyse aerial data and assist UAV missions: inspection, mapping, agri sensing and telemetry insight. Models may flag defects or objects; they do not replace a remote pilot or a DGCA licence.

Airframe, electronics and flight control stay in Drone Engineering. Crop analytics sit in AI in Agriculture. Aerospace (manned) analytics sit in AI in Aeronautical. Weaponised or unauthorised surveillance use is out of scope.

  • AI in Drones

    We teach applied AI for drones and UAV operations — aerial computer vision, inspection analytics, mission assist and GIS/photogrammetry insight — with airspace, privacy and human-in-the-loop constraints made explicit. Complements RIA’s Drone Engineering (airframe, electronics, flight control) rather than replacing it. This is not a DGCA Remote Pilot Certificate.

Common questions

  • Is this the same as Drone Engineering?

    Drone Engineering is UAV design, electronics, flight control and autonomy hardware. AI in Drones is perception, inspection analytics and mission assist on top of that. Many learners take both.

  • Do I get a DGCA Remote Pilot Certificate?

    No. RIA does not issue DGCA RPC. That requires authorised RPTO training under current DGCA rules. This track is engineering and analytics, not a pilot licence.

  • Do you teach weaponised or covert-surveillance drones?

    No. Offensive payloads and unauthorised surveillance are out of scope. Use cases are inspection, mapping, agri sensing and similar lawful operations with privacy constraints.
