Energy Shift Leadership

School of Energy · For people who already lead

Lead the transition from inside your organisation

This programme is for heads of function, plant and project leaders, and senior sustainability, commercial or finance leads who have to make the energy transition real at work. RIA calls it Energy Shift Leadership: a system-wide view, the way you lead people, and the strategy, money and risk behind a clean project. The themes sit alongside the Energy Institute and Hult Ashridge executive programme.

RIA teaches that practice in Chennai. The Energy Institute and Hult Ashridge run their own executive programme, with their faculty and their certificate. If you are still learning how a site uses energy, start with Energy Management & Net Zero.

Six conversations

You arrive with a live problem from work. You leave with a way to brief your organisation.

InPrepare
Name the problem you already have

Before the room meets, you write the decision that is stuck and a plain account of where the transition touches your organisation.

  • The decision waiting on your desk
  • Who is affected if you move
  • A shared picture of the transition
MapLandscape
Look across the system

Economics, policy, environment, society and governance, then the technologies and the efficiency work that still pays for itself.

  • Markets, policy and trends
  • Environmental and social pressure
  • Governance that the transition needs
  • New energy technologies
  • Why efficiency still matters
YouLead
How you hold a team through change

Style, judgement under strain, and the way you speak to a board, a plant and a partner who does not report to you.

  • Leadership styles for a shifting brief
  • Teams that keep performing
  • Reporting people can trust
  • Stakeholders and new partnerships
PlanStrategy
Money, risk and a change you can run

What the transition does to the business, how a clean project is financed, and how a net-zero intent becomes a governed plan.

  • Strategic implications
  • Innovation and change
  • Financing a clean project
  • Risk you can name
  • Standards and reporting toward net zero
LiveDecide
A decision with the room watching

A facilitated case puts a senior call in front of you. The cohort says what they saw. You leave with a clearer sense of how you act when the brief is incomplete.

  • A live senior decision
  • Feedback from the room
  • What you do under pressure
OutReturn
What you will do on Monday

You present the move you will make in your own organisation, and who has to be with you for it to hold.

  • A brief your organisation can use
  • The partnership you still need
  • The first move after the cohort

Questions

  • Is this the Energy Institute and Hult Ashridge programme?

RIA teaches Energy Shift Leadership in Chennai and records completion here. The Energy Institute and Hult Ashridge Executive Education run a separate executive programme under their own name.

  • What should I bring?

One decision from your organisation that the transition is making harder. The cohort works on that, not on a generic case alone.
