Use AI to classify, match and draft accounting work — a person still posts the entry and files the return

RIA’s AI in Accounting course in Chennai applies assistants and simple models to day-to-day books: voucher classification, bank reconciliation, invoice capture, and draft GST workings a reviewer can check.

TallyPrime, GST and statutory records stay in the TallyPrime & GST Accountant programme. Testing the evidence sits in AI in Auditing. Credit scores and forecasts sit in AI in Finance. This course does not teach how to hide income, invent invoices, or file a return the reviewer has not checked. It is not a CA, CMA or tax-advice qualification.

Classroom batches run at Purasawalkam (City Center, 186 Purasawalkam High Road, Kilpauk, Chennai 600010) and Saligramam (Venkatesa Nagar, Virugambakkam, Chennai 600092). Call +91 98843 63200.

Domain literacy + applied AI labs + responsible review + capstone

  • AI in Accounting

We teach applied AI for accounting operations — classifying vouchers, matching the bank, reading invoices and drafting GST workings. A person still posts the entry and files the return. Day-to-day TallyPrime and statutory records stay in TallyPrime & GST Accountant. This is not a CA course, and it does not teach how to hide income or invent documents.

    Domain Knowledge We Teach
    • Source document to voucher to ledger to trial balance
    • Sales, purchase, receipt, payment and journal — what each is for
    • Bank statement versus books: what a match is, and what is not
    • GST on an invoice: what a working paper must show before filing
    • Where an assistant may draft, and where a person must sign
    AI Skills You Will Learn
    • Read an invoice into date, party, amount and tax fields
    • Suggest a voucher type and ledger, with a reason
    • Match bank lines and list what is still open
    • Draft a GST working from posted books and flag gaps
    • Queue duplicates, missing tax and round-off differences
    Hands-on Outcomes
    • Build an invoice-capture sheet with a correction column
    • Produce a reconciliation that a senior can tick line by line
    • Write the rule: nothing posts and nothing files without a named reviewer
    • List exceptions from a sample month and how each was cleared
    • Present a reviewed set of books, including what the model got wrong

Common questions

  • Is AI in Accounting the same as TallyPrime?

No. TallyPrime & GST Accountant teaches the books and the software. AI in Accounting teaches assistants that draft classification, reconciliation and workings on top of those books. Many learners take both.

  • Will the software file GST or post entries by itself?

No. The course keeps a person as the one who posts the voucher and files the return. Assistants prepare a draft and a list of exceptions.

  • Is this a CA or tax-consultant course?

No. It is applied accounting with AI. Chartered and tax qualifications are separate. The class does not give tax advice for a real client filing.

  • Where is the course taught in Chennai?

At RIA Purasawalkam, City Center, 186 Purasawalkam High Road, Kilpauk 600010, and RIA Saligramam, 1st Cross Street, Venkatesa Nagar, Virugambakkam 600092.

  • Do I need to know Tally already?

Useful, not required. We teach the accounting cycle first. Learners already on TallyPrime or SAP FI move faster into the review labs.

Skills you build

  • Invoice capture with a correction step
  • Voucher suggestions a reviewer can accept or change
  • Reconciliation reports that list unmatched lines
  • Draft GST workings with an exception list

Who this is for

  • Commerce graduates and junior accountants
  • Tally, GST and billing executives adding AI review skills
  • Finance graduates who want the books, not only the ratios
  • Business owners who want a clear review trail on their accounts
