Domain literacy + applied AI labs + responsible review + capstone

  • AI in Photography

We teach photography craft first — light, lens, composition, colour — then AI for culling, retouch assist, generative fill and campaign stills, with authorship and disclosure kept under the photographer’s control.

    • Portrait, product, fashion, and documentary genres
    • Capture-to-delivery pipeline and asset naming
    • Print, web, and social delivery constraints
    • Likeness, location, and generative-image ethics
    AI Skills You Will Learn
    • AI culling and rating assist on large shoots
    • Retouch and cleanup assist with human finish
    • Generative fill / set-extension with disclosure
    • Look-development and colour-consistency systems
    • Searchable photo libraries with vision tagging
    Hands-on Outcomes
    • Deliver a small edited set with process notes
    • Practice retouch-assist vs full generative composites
    • Build a tagged library workflow for one shoot type
    • Write a client disclosure for AI-assisted stills
    • Present a photography AI portfolio mini-set

Common questions

  • Is this only Midjourney / image generators?

No. Capture craft comes first. Generative tools are used as set-extension and campaign assists with authorship and disclosure.

  • Do I need a full-frame camera?

Helpful, not required. Phone and mirrorless work for labs if you control light and composition.

  • Will AI replace photographers?

No. The syllabus trains you to keep lighting, direction, consent and final grade. AI is an apprentice, not the author.

Skills you build

  • Shoot-to-select workflows with AI culling
  • Retouch and cleanup assist
  • Disclosed generative composites
  • Searchable libraries and look systems

Who this is for

  • Photography and visual-communication students
  • Fashion, product, and wedding photographers
  • Art directors adding stills pipelines
  • Designers who shoot campaign assets in-house
