RIA's AI in Thanjavur Art programme is built around living Thanjavur (Tanjore) painting tradition: iconography, gesso relief, gold foil, stone work and colour discipline. AI is introduced strictly as a documentation, learning and constrained ideation aid.

Students digitise motif libraries, explore layouts under master review, and execute physical paintings by hand. Computer Vision supports conservation documentation and atelier QC assist — not automated sacred art generation for mass kitsch.

Complements AI in Fashion Design, AI in Jewellery Design and cultural pathways within School of Design.
