NVIDIA AI Essentials · Simulation and physical AI

Build a robot in simulation, make synthetic views, and write what must be rechecked on a real machine

RIA’s AI in Simulation and Physical AI course in Chennai teaches robots and scenes in simulation: a simple machine, sensors in a virtual room, synthetic images for a perception model, and the gap when the same behaviour meets a real floor.

Hardware, ROS practice and Jetson time continue on School of Robotics, including the Isaac simulation block already taught there. This page is the specialization: simulation, scenes and sim-to-real judgement.

The subject map follows the public self-paced catalogue at NVIDIA training. RIA teaches these subjects in Chennai. NVIDIA courses, cloud labs and certificates stay with NVIDIA. Completion here is a RIA record.

What you will learn

  • What a simulated robot is made of: body, joints, sensors
  • A scene description another person can open
  • Synthetic images and why they are not the real camera
  • Software-in-the-loop: test the code before the hardware
  • A first training run of a robot policy in simulation
  • The checks before anyone trusts that policy on a real machine
  • Digital-twin scenes for a room or a cell, at model scale
  • A written sim-to-real limit

  • AI in Simulation and Physical AI

We teach simulation for physical AI: a robot in a scene, synthetic views, and the checks before a real machine. The subject map follows the public self-paced catalogue at NVIDIA training. RIA teaches these subjects in Chennai. NVIDIA courses, cloud labs and certificates stay with NVIDIA. Completion here is a RIA record.

    Domain Knowledge We Teach
    • Bodies, joints and sensors in a simulator
    • A scene as a file, not only a screenshot
    • Synthetic images and the real camera
    • Software-in-the-loop before hardware-in-the-loop
    • What a policy learned in simulation may not survive
    AI Skills You Will Learn
    • Assemble a simple robot and run it in simulation
    • Generate a small synthetic view set and label the gap
    • Train or evaluate one behaviour in simulation
    • Write the recheck list for a real floor
    Hands-on Outcomes
    • A simulation you can hand to a classmate
    • A perception note: synthetic versus real
    • A sim-to-real limit on the first page
    • A link to School of Robotics if hardware time is next

Common questions

  • Is this the robotics diploma?

No. School of Robotics is the hardware and ROS programme. This course is the simulation and physical-AI specialization. Many learners take both.

  • Do I receive an NVIDIA Isaac or OpenUSD certificate?

No. Those credentials stay with NVIDIA. RIA records this course.

  • Will I deploy a robot in a hospital or on a road?

No. Healthcare and vehicle examples stay in simulation. A qualified operator and the robotics programme own any real machine.

  • Where is it taught?

RIA Purasawalkam and RIA Saligramam, Chennai.

Skills you build

  • A simple simulated robot
  • A synthetic perception set with its limits named
  • A sim-to-real checklist
  • A scene file a teammate can reload

Who this is for

  • Robotics students who can code in Python
  • Simulation and games learners moving toward robots
  • Engineers who will test software before hardware is free
  • Learners who finished AI Essentials or Deep Learning
